I was at the Glasgow Greens Playhouse gig in 72' ,and i've still got my ticket - i will post it so you can use it on your site -
The gig was my first ever concert - difficult to beat - as no matter what you go and see , you just cannot beat that initial "WHAT THE #@/>" after a gig like that .

Suzi Q was fine , over in a flash , Thin Lizzie (?) were an awesome 3 piece who unfortunatly had to edure the wrath of a few thousand impatient , bams and neds wearing "Clockwork Orange" attire , who were real hardcore Slade fans at the time.- (Think OASIS fans 10 years ago ----Just look at the photos of the wrecked venue at Apollo website to see what I mean - the buzz of violence in the air was tangible).
Phil Lynott was probably the first black man some of these people had ever seen - and they decided to tell him - and generally gave the band a bit of a hard time - despite being brilliant - even 2 years before the big riffs arrived !!!
I'm sure I heard Phil´s mother Philomena also attended the gig at Glasgow ,as I remember feeling guilty that my hometown could be so openly hostile .
Now , we all know that 2 years later the Slade fans turned on SAHB ,but that was different , more humourous and gentle , as the crowd were a more mixed age group ...and more girls .......but not that night in 72 ...it was mental ..and when Slade came on ......well ,as Rocky says "...apart from my kid being born , that was the greatest moment in the history of my life" .....well , THAT'S HOW GOOD THEY WERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
