760610 Omaha Civic Auditorium Omaha, Nebraska, US Nazareth was headlining with support acts Slade and The Ian Gillan Band (not yet known as simply 'Gillan'.)  The day of the concert our local radio station announced that Thin Lizzy had been added.  They played after The Ian Gillan Band and before Slade.  I was knocked out by the band, it was the first time I'd seen them perform.  It was also the first time I'd ever seen flash pots at a concert (on the opening chord of "Jailbreak", of course)

US TOUR JUN-76
Supporting Rainbow

Taken from NME 26th June 1976

We never played a single note on that tour because Phil was suffering from hepatitis weeks before we even got to "Ohio" where the tour was to begin. The day we got to "Ohio" Phil more or less nearly collapsed with exaustion and was taken to the hospital where he was told that he had contracted hepatitis and was to immediately fly back to London. Back in London he was put in the intensive care unit for a couple of weeks. It´s a shame, cause it would have been a great tour for Lizzy.

761123 Brian Robertson hurts his hand for the second time in a brawl in a club in London.
The night before the band were due to travel to the States, Brian Robertson had become involved in a brawl in the Speakeasy in London with fellow Scotsman Frankie Miller. Robbo jammed a bit with the reggae group Gonzales and, unfortunately a very drunk Frankie Miller joined him on stage. Frankie was making a scene i front of the crowd. After the show the guitarist from Gonzales wanted to punish Frankie, and lashed out with a bottle. But Robbo put his hand up and caught the blow instead. Robertson was rushed from the premises with his hand pumping blood and there was no way he could travel. In fact the verdict aws that he would be unlikely to play again for a couple of months, having ripped tendons in his hand.

Result: US-Tour cancelled
